The Idiot Proof Diet, created by Fat Loss 4 Idiots, is one of the most unique of all the fast weight loss diets because it shows you how to cycle the food you eat to burn fat and lose weight.
How does the Idiot Proof Diet work?
"Fat Loss 4 Idiots" works over 2 weeks- a 11 day cycle followed by a 3 day period where you're free to eat anything you choose. The diet uses a method called calorie shifting to force your body to shed pounds.
The theory is that if you keep adjusting the types of calories you eat over this 11 day period, your body is forced to increase your metabolism...and, as a result, you lose weight.
And the author of the diet claims you can lose up to 9 pounds in 11 days (which will require discipline on your part). I know friends that have lost 5 pounds in 11 days on the Idiot Proof Diet- which is still pretty impressive. To lose the full 9 lbs, you'll have to stick to the diet step-by-step with no cheating...which isn't that hard, but it's worth noting.
Fat Loss 4 Idiots consists of 2 parts:
1. An e-book that guides you through 10 rules that the diet is based on. For example, here's 5:
- You eat 4 meals per day, each separated by 2.5 hours (I feel 5 meals per day is better, but 4 is still good and is what they recommend).
- You have to use a specific rotation of carb and protein rich meals (this is the foundation of the Idiot Proof Diet).
- Drink water or diet soda.
- Avoid sweets and excessive condiments.
- Exercise - they recommend walking.
2. An online menu generator that tells you the food to eat over the 11 day cycle. Before doing this however, it asks you to select, from a list, 15-30 foods you like...this way, you'll actually enjoy the foods you eat during all 11 days - a big plus.
Out of all the fast weight loss diets, why is the Idiot Proof Diet worth trying?
We're skeptical of most quick weight loss diets available, but I give this one two thumbs up because it's a very unique and proven approach to weight loss AND it's easy to follow. I've always believed that good nutrition is one of the best ways to lose weight and improve your health - and this diet proves it.
