Sardines, also known as Pilchards, are from the same family as Herring. They are small, tasty, and oily, and great for the barbecue. In July 2016, the UK's Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN), concluded a study on vitamin D, recommending 400IU (international units) or 10 micrograms of Vitamin D should be consumed by every person over 4 years old every day.
