Calories in Blue Cheese, Blue Cheese Calories, Blue Cheese Nutrition Facts

How many calories in Blue cheese? See below, the Blue cheese calories for the different serving sizes. We provide you with Blue cheese nutrition facts and the health benefits of Blue cheese to help you lose weight and eat a healthy diet.

Blue cheese is the general name of cheese which has blue veins running through them, normally created by having Penicillium added. The cheese is normally made from cow’s milk, but some varieties may be made with either sheep’s or goats’ milk, and is very strong in taste.

Blue cheeses are high in fat, approx. 25g-30g per 100g, so avoid if you need to lose weight. They provide a great source of protein and calcium. In addition, they contain vitamins A, B1-B3, B5, B6, B12, D, E, K, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, selenium and many other minerals.

Given its high calcium content, Blue cheese is great for healthy bones and teeth. Other Blue cheese benefits are thought to include the prevention of gout.

Calories in Blue Cheese, Blue Cheese Calories, Blue Cheese Nutrition Facts Cheese in general contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Studies of CLA have shown that it helps with weight loss. Whilst we don’t generally recommend supplements as we believe all nutrients and vitamins should come from eating healthily, this is one supplement you may want to consider if you are giving up cheese as part of your weight loss program.
