How many calories in Mozzarella cheese? See below, the Mozzarella cheese calories for the different serving sizes. We provide you with Mozzarella cheese nutrition facts and the health benefits of Mozzarella cheese to help you lose weight and eat a healthy diet.

Originating from Italy, Mozzarella is normally made from whole milk, although low fat varieties exist. Mozzarella di Bufala – buffalo mozzarella – is considered by many to be the best tasting, with the milk coming from water buffalo instead of cows.
Mozzarella made from whole milk is high in fat, so should not be considered if you are looking to lose weight, however, it is a fantastic source of protein and calcium. It also provides vitamins A, B1-3, B5, B6, D, E, K, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, selenium and zinc.

If you are on a weight loss program, search out low fat varieties. Mozzarella, as with most cheeses, is great for building bones and maintaining healthy teeth.

Other Mozzarella benefits are thought to include the protection of cell membranes, given the presence of vitamins A, D and E.
