Gjetost cheese (pronounced “yay toast”) also has several other names depending on the country of origin; Brunost (Norway), Brunost or Myseost (Sweden), Myseost (Denmark) and Mysuostur (Iceland). It translates to Goat (Gjet) in Norwegian.
It was originally made from goat’s milk, but some variants may include cow’s milk as well.

Gjetost cheese is high in fat, approx. 30g per 100gand also high in calcium. It also provides a good source of vitamins A, B1-B3, B5, B6, B12, protein, potassium, phosphorus, selenium and zinc.
